Jamie has been in the field of psychotherapy for over 20 years and joined Denville Family Counseling in 2004. In 2013, she founded “It’s All Relative”, a group dedicated to siblings of special needs children. She specializes in working with adolescents struggling with mood dysregulation, personality disorders, maladaptive behaviors, and interpersonal relationships. She believes that helping adolescents work through their psychological issues aids their adjustment during this crucial developmental period. In addition, she helps her clients in the areas of anger management, school related challenges, communication skills and recovery enrichment. Jamie also works with adults and families struggling with issues related to anxiety, depression, stress management and conflict.
Jamie believes that her role as a therapist is to effectively guide an individual towards becoming his/her most authentic self. She has developed a compassionate, supportive, humorous, and energetic approach to therapy, in which she helps lead clients towards achieving their potential.
Jamie received her Master of Education and Master of Arts degrees in Psychological Counseling and graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Teacher’s College, Columbia University. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors from Lehigh University. Jamie received extensive training in Relational Life Therapy under the renowned therapist Terry Real. In addition, she is the recipient of the “Above and Beyond” Award from her work with Effective School Solutions.
